It's exciting times for creative people everywhere. And that's where I'd like to focus now...on the positive side of life. While social media can be quite negative at times, it also brings to us a large number of creative people who write, paint, make music, the talent is limitless.
These fine folks put an extreme amount of time, effort, and money, into their talent as they constantly strive to improve.
What I'm asking you to do today is to take a moment and think about the work, the hours and thought, that has gone into the book, the painting, song or photograph you see advertised. Creative people do this work because they love what they do, but also because they want to bring to you the best of what's inside them.
Have an outstanding day full of the ordinary. It's the ordinary things that are outstanding !
With warm regards,
I hope you enjoyed your Halloween activities last night. I very much liked seeing the many costumes of every sort. The creative ideas of people is wonderful. My husband and I spent the evening with Jason of Friday the 13th. Still scary enough to make me close blinds I usually leave open.
I appreciate everyone's patience with me getting the new books out, The Jessie Quinn and Dejni Series . As the title says, waiting for the covers. Nothing moves forward without the covers. In the mean time, I'm working on this website to improve it.
It would be impossible for me to post and not talk about the creative process of any endeavor. I'm always astonished when someone says to me how easy it is to write a book and they could certainly do it. Or when I'm approached while plein air painting by a proud grandmother who tells me how her 5 year old grandchild did a painting 'just like that'. I always smile and thank them for sharing as I wonder if they really do believe what they said..
The take away for me in these cases is this: No matter what you write , or what you paint, there IS someone out there who will love it and think you are the very best!
I hope to have news soon to say the books are out.
Thank you for spending these few moments with me.
Coming to publication soon !
Yes, it's been a very long time since I've seen you here. Much has happened in these past months, some great things and some not so good, but all seems to be moving in a positive direction now. April's shoulder reconstruction surgery is recovering, slow but sure, and I can actually lift my arm now. That doesn't sound like much of a big deal, but believe me, it is.
Many of you may know that I lost my great Russian Arabian, Dejni, in June this year. Twenty eight years of joy and happiness, thousands of miles ridden together through mountains, deserts, endless hours in the saddle at horse shows and rodeos. We had a hell of a run together! Perfect, I'd say.
In an attempt to easy my heartache, I wrote "Real Deal cowgirl: the Jessie Quinn and Dejni Series" as a tribute to the great horse Dejni was. All the books are based on actual things that happened to him, to us, during our many adventures. I staged the time frame in the early 1950's to show how life was growing up on a ranch before techie things took over the world.
I will be calling this a fiction series to allow me to change names, places, to ensure privacy for people involved in some activities. But be sure the happenings are things Dejni and I actually experienced.
The series is written for teens and up, but I think many 10 year old kids could easily read it even if they had to look up a few words. ( I don't believe in 'dumbing down' young people. ) Also, several mature ladies enjoyed the story line. Let me say here, there is no profanity, no sex. It's a clean read with good values geared to young people.
The book is back from the editor ...Linda seed, she did a wonderful job... I'm rebuilding my website as you can see, and book covers are being made. I'll have FREE stories ready soon so you can have a taste of it.
In the mean time. bear with me as I continue to try and pull this off ! lol
My warm regards,
I love the way a pen feels when it touches down on paper. Once the pen moves ideas come in a rush.
