Yes, it's been a very long time since I've seen you here. Much has happened in these past months, some great things and some not so good, but all seems to be moving in a positive direction now. April's shoulder reconstruction surgery is recovering, slow but sure, and I can actually lift my arm now. That doesn't sound like much of a big deal, but believe me, it is.
Many of you may know that I lost my great Russian Arabian, Dejni, in June this year. Twenty eight years of joy and happiness, thousands of miles ridden together through mountains, deserts, endless hours in the saddle at horse shows and rodeos. We had a hell of a run together! Perfect, I'd say.
In an attempt to easy my heartache, I wrote "Real Deal cowgirl: the Jessie Quinn and Dejni Series" as a tribute to the great horse Dejni was. All the books are based on actual things that happened to him, to us, during our many adventures. I staged the time frame in the early 1950's to show how life was growing up on a ranch before techie things took over the world.
I will be calling this a fiction series to allow me to change names, places, to ensure privacy for people involved in some activities. But be sure the happenings are things Dejni and I actually experienced.
The series is written for teens and up, but I think many 10 year old kids could easily read it even if they had to look up a few words. ( I don't believe in 'dumbing down' young people. ) Also, several mature ladies enjoyed the story line. Let me say here, there is no profanity, no sex. It's a clean read with good values geared to young people.
The book is back from the editor ...Linda seed, she did a wonderful job... I'm rebuilding my website as you can see, and book covers are being made. I'll have FREE stories ready soon so you can have a taste of it.
In the mean time. bear with me as I continue to try and pull this off ! lol
My warm regards,
I love the way a pen feels when it touches down on paper. Once the pen moves ideas come in a rush.
